CHIAMPINI ICE CM STAND

Next to the entrance of the young design hotel Haus im Tal, an unused niche had long remained unnoticed – a small pocket of space in the heart of Munich’s old town with remarkable potential. From this starting point emerged the concept and design for a mini gelato stand with a subtly classic elegance, created to serve as a new outward-facing signature for the hotel.
It serves gelato from Ciampini, the renowned and long-established Roman gelato maker whose timeless refinement inspired the design of the new space. The stand combines high-quality, dark-stained solid oak with polished stainless steel.
The folded façade shifts its appearance depending on movement in the urban space: from one angle it appears matte and silver, from another it becomes reflective and mirror-like – a small moment of surprise in the everyday bustle of Munich’s Tal district.
The design brings the atmosphere of a traditional Italian gelateria into the center of Munich, inviting both passers-by and hotel guests to enjoy a sweet pause.
