New Normals was a solo institutional exhibition by Konstantin Grcic at Haus am Waldsee in Berlin (January 21 – May 8, 2022). I contributed as an assistant to the exhibition’s concept development and spatial design.

The exhibition explored how everyday realities continuously evolve through objects and behaviors, and what kinds of “new normalities” might emerge from these shifts.

Its starting point was a selection of familiar everyday and industrial objects, as well as Grcic’s own designs, presented in unexpected constellations and arrangements that challenged and reinterpreted conventional modes of use. The New Normals on display pointed toward future ways of living and working by imagining both utopian and dystopian scenarios, encouraging visitors to reflect on the role of design in shaping emerging forms of life.

Through playful and at times subtly disorienting installations, the exhibition created a space in which the present, the habitual, and the possible future entered into a creative dialogue.
