ECKART CHAIR
ECKART reinterprets the plain, self-evident, and rustic character of a traditional farmer’s chair through a contemporary and minimalist design language — with a few surprising twists.
Reduced to the bare essentials, ECKART is built from raw, angular boards in a radically simple construction that challenges conventions of furniture design. It openly reveals its structure and material: larch three-layer boards — typically dismissed in high-end furniture — define the chair’s aesthetic. The visible spruce core, slightly contrasting in color, accentuates the crisp edges and gives the chair its distinct character.
Made entirely from locally sourced, sustainably certified wood — without any metal or plastic connectors — ECKART remains untreated. Over time, it will develop a natural patina, with imperfections, scratches, dents, and softened edges enhancing its presence.
